Foreign researchers awarded Rubicon grants

05 Sep 2007

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) has awarded 33 promising young scientists a Rubicon grant.

The grant enables Dutch scientists who have recently been awarded their PhD to acquire research experience abroad, and foreign researchers to conduct research in the Netherlands.

The majority of the successful candidates have been awarded their PhDs in the Netherlands. The others come from elsewhere in Europe and from the United States. Many of them are conducting their research at knowledge institutes in the US, while others are based in England, Germany, Finland, Switzerland and France. Five are conducting their research in the Netherlands. Over a third of the recipients are women. See www.nwo.nl/rubicon for more information.
