Award ceremony for Huygens Scholarship Programme students

On Saturday 5 April the HSP students of 2007 received their certificates. About 150 HSP students from 42 different countries attended the award ceremony.
The Huygens Scholarship Programme (HSP) is financed by the Ministry of Education, Culture & Science and is aimed at excellent students from around the world. The programme is administered by Nuffic. The award ceremony for the 2007 HSP students took place on Saturday 5 April. Around 150 fellowship students, from 42 different countries attended. In this round, about € 8.5 million in scholarships was provided.
Students had the opportunity to start getting to know each other during a traditional Dutch lunch. A speech by Jo van Ham, Director-General for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, then started the ceremony, followed by a speech by Winnie Sorgdrager, the Chair of the HSP selection committee.
Next, Joep Houterman, Director Capacity Building and Scholarships at Nuffic, presented the award ceremony. The certificates were handed out by Winnie Sorgdrager, followed by best wishes for the students from Jo van Ham. Halfway through the ceremony there was a musical interlude, followed by a speech from an HSP student of the previous year.
