Fifteen researchers at Dutch universities and three researchers affiliated to other Dutch research institutions have been awarded grants by the European Research Council.
This has given the Netherlands 9% of the total grant budget. In terms of the number of researchers, the Netherlands achieved by far the highest score relative to other countries of a similar size and larger. At a meeting this afternoon education minister Ronald Plasterk congratulated the scientists on winning the grants.
