Living in Holland
19 Nov 2007
This small book was written for international students and researchers who are getting ready to come to the Netherlands for a period of study or work. It will help them prepare for departure and then adjust to their new surroundings after they arrive. Living in Holland is therefore best sent to prospective visitors before they leave their own countries. That is why the book is not only small (92 pages) but also lightweight.
To the readers of Living in Holland:
Read the first two chapters before you leave your own country to make sure you are not forgetting anything. Chapter 3 will answer practical questions, but you can read it in the airplane if you are short of time. The rest of the book you can read at your leisure, after you are settled in and have time to take a closer look at your surroundings and to start interacting socially with other people. You might want to read Chapter 7 soon, however. It will help you adapt to the style of education you will find in the Netherlands.
