‘Holland Night’ at the Holland Heineken House

On 21 Aug 2008 it was ‘Holland Night’ at the Holland Heineken House, an alumni social networking event organized by the Netherlands Alumni Association in China (NANC).
More than 60 alumni and NANC members joined this event. Mr Gerard Steeghs, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Royal Dutch Embassy in Beijing delivered a welcome speech.
One minute before the event, the Dutch women’s water polo team won the gold medal at the Olympics, which once again proved the high skills of these Dutch girls in water sports. It was a great pleasure for the participants of the Holland Night to meet with the Dutch water polo team later at the NANC event.
The biggest celebration took place in the third hall of the Heineken House, where more than 3000 Dutch supporters with their friends and families showed up. Maarten van der Weijden, the marathon swimmer, shared his victory with everybody in the house. Prince Willem-Alexander congratulated Maarten and shared his feelings of pride with all Dutch supporters.
Many of the alumni have given positive feedback on the event.
